This past week we had another sewing night and this time when it came to deciding what we were going to make, it was easy cause we received our inspiration from YOU, our awesome Customers, ok, well in this case “YOU” was actually specifically Laurie D., but you get what I mean lol!
So first off, you know that when you purchase fabric from us, we hope that you will in turn send us pictures of whatever it is that you made with that fabric through our “Inspiration” tab right? Plus, just for doing this, you could win a $50 Store Credit!! If you’re unsure of how to do share, here’s how in pictures!

Not only do we appreciate these pictures as they can inspire other Customers, but as you can imagine, they inspire us too! This happened once before when we were inspired to try out the Vinyl Beach Bags that lots of you make, especially our Customer Ann R. so that prompted another sewing night for us! To thank Laurie and Ann, we gave them each a $25 Store Credit so there’s another good reason to share pictures with us…if we decide to make something because of YOU, you’ll be rewarded too!!
This time, Laurie shared pictures of a Stadium Bag that she makes and we all agreed that it looked like a fun one to make, and she was kind enough to share the pattern that she used, which was a YouTube Video called Crossbody/Cell Phone/Epi Pen/Medical Supply Bag Tutorial by Jean Truelove! Here’s a picture of one of the bags Laurie’s made:

Now you can see why we loved it, it looks simple enough and perfect for carrying just the essentials!
We decided that we would all prep our fabrics at our homes beforehand so that we could just start sewing that night. What was quite funny was that we all had separately decided that we would change the size and/or shape slightly to better suit our preferences! The pattern is so easily manipulated so this was fairly easy! When it came time to actually follow the steps of the pattern, the one step we all agreed that we didn’t want to do was to leave it with raw edges on the inside of the bag so we just did a simple sewing lining to lining and exterior to exterior, leaving a gap in the lining to birth it through. It really doesn’t take any more time and is our preferred method of finishing off a bag!
So here for your viewing pleasure is our bags!

- A was made by Melissa and she used TT Rainbow Metallic Dragonfly on Black and she made her bag shorter by a few inches, finished size was approximately 6″x9″
- B was made by Chloé and she used the TT Multi Skull Floral Butterfly Tattoo Print. She chose to make it wider and longer and did not put the outside pocket on it, finished size was approximately 12″x14″
- C was made by Aliah and she used AG Magical Gust Crisp and she also made her bag shorter by a few inches, finished size was approximately 6″x9″
- D was made by Wendy and she used TT Black Peacock Feathers with Metallic. She originally made it the size the pattern suggested but she felt it might by slightly too long so will perhaps be changing the size to shorter. Finished size is approximately 6″x11″.
- E was made by me, Shawna, and I used Hoffman Dahlia Peacock Floral Digitally Printed. I also made mine shorter and I also added a slip pocket on the back. The finished size was approximately 6″x8″.
We had a great time and I think most of us will definitely be making more and we highly recommend that you give it a try too!! And when you do, you’ll share it with us…right?!?
Have a great week everyone, stay stay and healthy!
Shawna
