“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”…….FALL!!! Hmmm, I wonder if that’s how I started off last years post about fall too lol?!?
Fall is my absolute favourite time of year, followed closely by Christmas, of course! The crisp mornings, warm days, chilly evenings….sweater weather….ahhhhh, it just all makes me happy!
The only slight negative is the fact that all the huge trees in our backyard will soon be dropping their many leaves and we’ll be knee deep in them! One of these years we’ll give in and hire some much younger people that have more energy than us to rake them up lol! There’s some of us that enjoy the leaves though…..

He plays in them for hours…hiding his ball and then finding it, over and over and over lol!
I used to do some extreme decorating outdoors but that has toned way down over the years but I still go overboard inside, especially my dining room as that’s the first room you see when you enter our house, and if we entertain, it’s in there! I dug out all my decorations last weekend, or should I say, Jeff did lol, and I’ve been working worked away at setting everything up, which I find so much joy in obviously! Once I was done, I realized that I have more spooky than fall-ish and I kind of want to even that out a bit so I’ll go shopping and see if I can rectify that situation but in the meantime, I decided that there was a project I could make that would help out the situation, one I had already told myself to make when I was writing this week’s sales email lol….. a table runner!!
I have quite the collection of pumpkins in various colours, textures and sizes so I knew Packed Pumpkins Hallows Eve would compliment them perfectly especially paired with Cheddar Spotted by Zen Chic as it’s just the perfect orange!

I chose to use a pattern I’ve used previously, the super simple 20 Minute Table Runner pattern which is everywhere on the internet, although the version I follow is The One Hour Table Runner from Super Mom – No Cape, which is probably more accurate for most people, including me! What I like about this version is that she helps you figure out what size to cut your fabric using her formula, which I find very helpful, less mathing for me lol! Her version also shows you how much fabric to buy to make two at the same time, if that’s of interest to you! Before I talk about the variation I did this time, let me share with you my finished runner….

Oh my fall-loving heart is so happy right now eeekkkk!!!
So what did I change? Well let me show you my previous runner and you’ll see…..

Can you see the difference in the ends? Depending on how you do the last step, which way you fold the fabric to sew it to create the point, changes which fabric you see more of! I love how more of the pumpkins show!
So now before I leave you, let me tell you that the shopping has happened and I’m so happy with the final look…..

When I look at something like this, something I created, I feel proud but also lucky, and even more fitting with this Blog post, THANKFUK! I’m so thankful that I rediscovered my love and passion for sewing and creating.
You want to know what else I’m thankful for?!? YOU!!!! I’m seriously so thankful for each of you taking the time to read my Blog, to comment, to share your thoughts with me…it all just means so much to me!
I hope you take the time to stop and see your talent and tell yourself “good job”! If you can’t, just know I’m doing it for you!
Cheers my friends, and Happy Sewing!
