Hello all, how is everyone doing? Are you having a great summer, I mean set aside the whole Covid thing, how is your summer going? Have you been camping out in the backyard? Have you been having game nights? Have you taken this time to be more exploratory in the kitchen, trying out new recipes? Have you poured your heart and soul into your gardens and they’re flourishing more than ever? Have you been crafting and sewing so much that not only are you prepared for this Christmas but also next?!?

Why am I so inquisitive? Why so many questions? Well, of course I genuinely want to know your answers, but the other reason is I have no sewing projects from the past week to share with you because I literally haven’t sat at my sewing machine even once this past week lol!!!

For some of you that might be completely normal but for me, this is a rarity! It’s not that I don’t have projects I want to complete either, I mean nothing pressing that has to get done by a certain date, just things I plan on making!
So that’s what I’d like to share with you today…my “to-make list” that I always have stuck to my bulletin board in my sewing room! Maybe I can inspire you with some of my ideas, and if you’d be so kind as to share what’s on your list, maybe I’ll be adding on to mine lol!

Firstly, there’s that Double Gauze dress that I talked about on a previous post! I have yet to make it but I have a good reason why, I promise lol! The gauze print that I decided to use hasn’t come back into stock yet but when it does, I’m ready! Pattern has been purchased and printed…just need the fabric!

I absolutely LOVE the Aruba Blooms Double Gauze pattern and even though I normally look for dark colours in my clothing, I feel like the touches of teal with the greys will be great!

Also on that list is a winter project that I’m both simultaneously excited and terrified to work on lol! I’m waiting “patiently” for the outdoor fabric to come in and then I will be making new cushions for this set as well as a rocking chair! This will be a big job for me as I’m starting from scratch with new foam too, but the one good thing about it is even if we’re still using the set outside, which we’ll do as long as Mother Nature allows, I can be working away on the cushions at a nice leisurely pace and still have them done in plenty of time for the following season (who are we kidding, I’ll leave it till the last minute and then be doing them in a rush job to use the next day lol)!

Next bigger job is to make a new set of Christmas stockings for the family!
As you might remember from a previous post, I *might* be slightly obsessed with gnomes so when this group of flannels and cottons came in to the store I knew I needed it! I’ve wanted to make new stockings for a few years but couldn’t really find a group of coordinating Christmas/holiday/seasonal fabrics that I loved…till now! I am envisioning cute little gnome stockings with Minky cuffs!
So there ya go, not only have you seen my “to-make” list but now you’ve also gotten a look at some upcoming Blog posts so stay tuned! Hopefully the one on the cushions isn’t filled with too many bad words out of sheer frustration lol!
Have a great week and Happy Sewing!
