Guess what I made this week?!? Another Braided Twist, well, actually the Bonus Blossom Pattern but still, I’m actually cracking up at myself over what can only be called a new apparent obsession lol!

This is something that hardly ever happens to me when I finish a project, I mean I will finish a project and say, “that was fun, I’d make that again” but very rarely would I go ahead and make another one right away….within the same week even!!
Yes, I did change it up a bit by trying the Bonus Blossom pattern but, and here’s another crazy part for which I truly hope you’re sitting down……I’ve already cut up all the material for my next traditional Braided Twist lol!!!!

So just as a refresher for you, here’s the Braided Twist package as well as the first one I made, a fun coffee themed one that looks perfect on my coffee bar! As I’ve already said, as soon as I finished this one, I was already planning out my next 2 lol! As soon as I say the Bonus Blossom pattern, I just knew I had to give it a try and I also knew that I wanted to made it for my round outdoor table….which also meant that I wanted to make it water proof/resistant for those times that I forget to take the tablecloth in the house lol! I briefly considered using the Jaxson Outdoor fabric that I used to make my new outdoor furniture cushions however, I still have one big project to complete with that fabric and whatever I have at home is all there is left so I don’t want to waste it! Besides, there is such thing as “too much of a good thing” right, sometimes it’s ok to not have everything match exactly….right lol?!? So with that in mind, I decided that I wanted to go in a different direction all together! Since this is for the backyard table that I usually have positioned near the garden, why not use some floral fabric and in doing that, introduce some bright, beautiful colours! We didn’t really have anything in stock that caught my attention so I decided just to wait, but I didn’t have to wait too long because a shipment of 1 box showed up with 4 bolts of fabric in it and one of those bolts was beyond perfect!!

It’s so bright and beautiful, the Multi Dahlias fabric by Elizabeth Studios and as Dahlias are one of my favourite flowers, it was meant to be!! I then hit up the Clearance Section and found the perfect complimentary purple, Concord Grape Palette, and I was set to go! So here it is, my first finished Blossom:

Isn’t she just so pretty?!? This may look like I’m done but not quite, I had one more step because you’ll remember I said I wanted it waterproof so I broke out my jar of Odicoat and went to work! I intended on doing 3 coats on both the front and the back however, I ran out after 2 coats on each side so 2 coats it is lol!!

I love how it gives it a sheen and look at what it did to the leaves, it made them look so realistic with the “creases”, just so cool!! Sadly I couldn’t take pictures in my backyard, I mean I guess I could have but since we had a mild snow storm this weekend, it’s just not the effect I was hoping for but that warm weather will come and when it does, my table will be looking ah-mazing!!!
If these 2 projects of mine have inspired you to try them yourselves, our Pre-Order is still up and running and you can find it HERE! I’m assuming you know that I highly recommend it lol!! I found them both so easy to do, and pretty darn quick as well! I did get stumped on one part of the Blossom and spent some time re-reading and re-watching the video without finding any clarification so I just kind of guessed and went with it lol, but as you can see, it turned out great so YaY me lol!! She referred to a type of quilting ruler and since I know nothing about quilting and definitely don’t own any quilting rulers, this confused me! Other than that small hiccup, it was easy to follow and came together easily!
I hope you are well and healthy and creating wonderful things! Cheers!
