Hmmm, I’m wondering if any of you out there will get the reference I just made in that title?!? Are any of you as obsessed with this as I am?!? Have you, like me, been mentally counting down for Friday, November 21, 2025?
If you’re confused by my rantings, I’ll put you out of your misery lol……

Sooooo…..excited!!!!!! I was/am such a fan of the first movie, I’m not even exaggerating when I say I have literally no clue how many times I’ve watched it! If has become the thing I put on while I’m sewing or crafting, and I still catch myself stopping what I’m doing to watch certain scenes or sing along in my way off-key way! There’s something about this movie that just captivates me, and did so right from the very first moments of watching it in theaters!
I remember thinking then that waiting till November 2025 was going to take forever….and in some aspects it did, and in other ways it’s almost shocking that it’s now time, that indeed a whole year has passed!
Tickets were purchased on the very day they went on sale and we will be once again accompanied by our movie buddies, our dear friends Kim and Steve, and also their son! Outfit is planned, which is a Wicked shirt and a sweater I made…….

I also purchased a handmade item that will a fun addition to my outfit, well, both mine and Kim’s because I got one for her too! But more about that shortly!
As you may have seen, we recently got a few cotton/woven prints in that are entitled “For Good”, which of course is inspired by this incredible upcoming movie! Thankfully Melissa allowed me to pick a few prints out and these are the ones I chose:

Let me introduce you to…..Pink Potion, Green Potion, Pink Elixir, Green Elixir, Pink Emblem and Green Insignia! I love them all so much, I think that the designer, Patrick Lose, did an incredible job choosing icons to focus the line on! There was a total of 12 prints to chose from and I somehow managed to narrow it down to these 6 lol!
It was many months ago that we were able to order these, knowing that they’d be arriving this fall just in time for the movie, and in that time I started a new list on my phone called, “Things to make with the Wicked fabrics!”, and let me tell you, the list was quite extensive and was constantly being added too! I will, in fact, share what the list was….

So, fabric arrived and once the weekend rolled around, I was so ready to go! It felt like Christmas morning, that excitement you felt as a little child just counting down the minutes till you were allowed to get out of bed lol! I made my coffee first but that was about all I did lol! I had already compiled all my patterns and cut any paper pattern pieces that there were so I immediately jumped in and started cutting one of the projects. Luckily all the projects I had planned were quick little ones, so before long, I had finished prepping one of them and then I had a brainwave, and I’m sure what I’m going to share is not a new concept to many of you, but it’s something I don’t think I’ve ever done before! Instead of going ahead and sewing up the project I had just finished prepping, I decided that I would instead prep all the projects I wanted to make and then kind of batch sew them!!!!! Ok, quit laughing, I told you this was probably a very normal thing to do lol! Anyways, that’s what I did! I prepped all the projects by cutting all the fabrics and required interfacing, got any needed notions ready…everything! Since I was using the same fabrics in all the projects, I wouldn’t even need to switch thread, which I had already decided would be White Glide thread because it went well with everything!
By the end of the afternoon, I had 5 projects prepped and ready to go, oh, actually 10 because I was making 2 of everything! You might have noticed that there was 6 things on my list but I ended up not making the little boxed pouch because I wasn’t sure it was something I’d actually use.
3 of the projects were items I have previously made and shared with you….corner bookmark, coffee cup sleeves and the double eye glass holder. They were as fun to make this time as last time, and since I was remaking them, it gave me the chance to tweak them a little bit!

The first thing I made were the cute but practical little corner bookmark that I was originally inspired by one an amazing customers, April, to make. I made it the same as before except this time I wanted it to be a wee bit sturdier so I used a heavier interfacing, Pellon 808, on 2 of the pieces and SF101 on one of the pieces. It definitely made it a bit trickier to turn right side out, but it was well worth it in my opinion! The hardest part of this project was fussy cutting the emblems lol!

Next up was another super quick one, the Continuous Coffee Sleeve from OklaRoots. For this one, I made it a fraction smaller than the last time. Once I actually used my original one on a takeout coffee, it seemed a tad too big as it went all the way to the top of the cup, not that I was worried about it coming off completely but I thought it would be better slightly smaller so I took approximately 1/4″ off the pattern! Once again, fussy cutting this was the hardest part, especially since your pattern pieces are slightly arched and the print on the fabric is not, but I did the best I could and I think they turned out great! These are reversable so whatever vibe we want to give off that day, be it the Glinda or Elphaba vibe, that’s the side we can have out lol!

Now I was on to the 3rd project and that was the Double Eyeglasses Case Sewing Pattern from Notches Sewing. Oh my goodness, I so love this pattern!! And as is the theme, I made a slight alteration with my process and it turned out great! This time I cut the Thermolam a wee bit smaller so that I could keep it out of my bottom seam and it was much easier to turn right-side out! My machine could handle the thickness but due to the unique way you turn it out, birth it if you will, the thickness was an issue! This time it was easy and didn’t compromise the finished project at all!
I finished 2 more projects in the same day, but they were new projects so therefore I feel like they deserve there own spotlight so you’ll have to come back in the next 2 weeks to see them! And by then, I’ll have seen the new movie and I’ll be so excited to share with you how much I loved it too lol!
Oops, I almost forgot to show you what else I got for us to wear……

I found a “local” shop from Etsy to get us some custom Wicked themed bracelets!!!!! I just have to share them with you because the whole experience was so wonderful, I highly recommend them if you need such a thing! Their Etsy shop is called Blank Space Bracelet and they are located in Toronto, Ontario! They have a “custom bracelet” link that you can purchase and then tell them what you want the design to be. I didn’t have an exact vision of what I wanted so I just told them colours, words I wanted and the bead size from their options, and they made the most incredible set of 5 bracelets that are so perfect! I asked for 2 sets that are the same for Kim and me, and since the listing was for 5 bracelets, I got an extra one for me that says Elphaba, as she’s my kindred spirit! They were so kind to also gift us with 2 rings, just so thoughtful! Seriously, if you need bracelets for anything/anyone, this is where you need to go!
Ok, that’s all for now friends, I hope to see you right here next week, but until then…..happy sewing and most importantly, be kind to you because there’s no other you and that’s a pretty special thing! Cheers friends!
